Recently, we began discussing
our Covenant of Protection: Psalm 91. I
hope that you have taken the time to invest in learning this Psalm. Today, we will look at verses 7 through 12.
"A
thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it
shall not come nigh thee.
Only
with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Because
thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy
habitation;
There
shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling.
For he
shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways.
They
shall bear thee up in their hands, lest thou dash thy foot against a stone."
(Psalm 91:7-12)1
These six (6) verses are rich
in his promises towards us; we know:
1. Disaster and destruction can
break out all around, yet in the midst of that, we are hidden away, safe with God.
Chaos will not come near us. Why? " Because
thou hast made the LORD, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation…"
(Psalm 91:9).
2. God has assigned
His angels to watchfully guard and protect us. Even if we were to; "dash our foot against a stone." What that means to me, is not only am I
covered in the midst of chaos, but in the daily
mishaps that could occur.
Each time I read Psalm 91 I am
reminded of how much God loves me - all of us.
Each time I speak Psalm 91 I am strengthened on the inside to not be
fearful.
It is not enough that we read
the promises of God; we must also believe and then act out on what we
believe. Begin to say Psalm 91 over your
life daily and rest in His covenant promises to you.
