Write the Vision
June 2, 2010By Joneen Horton

"Keep the vision before your eyes."  That's what I heard in my spirit one afternoon while driving.  "So how do I do that Lord?" I asked.  I knew that Habakkuk 2:2 says: "…Write the vision and engrave it so plainly upon tablets that everyone who passes may [be able to] read [it easily and quickly] as he hastens by." (The Amplified Bible)  I had written down "The Vision" so many times in the past, only to read it for a few months and then not refer to it again.  I have an awesome imagination and usually spend time twice a day (upon awakening and before going to sleep at night) envisioning myself walking in the promises of God; yet a stressful day or a sick child limits my imagination times.  I woke up one morning with the thought: "vision board".

While this is not a new concept, it is new to me.  I had heard about dream boards in the past; yet never considered making one.  My CFF (Covenant Friend for Life) was visiting and I suggested we both create our vision boards.  The difference between a dream board and a vision board is that a dream board depicts your plans and desires; while a vision board depicts the plans and desires God has for you.  Creating the board was a blast!  Over the next few blog posts, I'll walk you through our process so that you are able to create your own vision board.

Peace.

The timing of your blog post is incredible. I've been struggling to start my board for the past 5 months. This post has given me a new outlook. The Lord truly moves in mysterious ways!

To provide an understanding of living by faith.
God honors the covenant of marriage and He has shown us repeatedly that He is for us. He has surrounded us with friends, family, Pastors who build us up and encourage us to hold on to the covenant.
The greatest lesson I have learned is; at times I must "Be still, and know that [He is] God: [He] will be exalted among the heathen, [He] will be exalted in the earth." (Psalm 46:10)
