Looking for the Hand of God
September 11, 2008By Joneen Horton

Several years ago I was getting a massage and I heard;"look for the hand of God in everything you do."  Since that time, I have found that God is intimately and intricately involved in my daily life.  If I just look for His hand and acknowledge Him in all things I get lots of "little" gifts throughout the day.  Today's gift was an opportunity to use my computer skills and barter for services.  I had only moments before looked in the mirror and said "God,I want to be able to have these services done, yet I can't keep budgeting it in our household expenses."  And only 15 minutes later I received a call requesting my services in trade!  To me that's a little gift.  I mean I wasn't praying for healing for a loved one or world peace.  A small request and His response.  Sure, you could say, I was just lucky.  But I don't operate in luck, I'm a child of God, I have favor. And if you write off every "little" thing will you truly acknowledge Him in the "big" things?  Will you praise Him for the birth of a child if you can't praise Him for the sun shining?  So for today, I'm celebrating that one little gift, I've had more today, but this entry could go on ad nauseum and I think you get the point...

To provide an understanding of living by faith.
God honors the covenant of marriage and He has shown us repeatedly that He is for us. He has surrounded us with friends, family, Pastors who build us up and encourage us to hold on to the covenant.
The greatest lesson I have learned is; at times I must "Be still, and know that [He is] God: [He] will be exalted among the heathen, [He] will be exalted in the earth." (Psalm 46:10)
