Title:

The Sower – Prepare to Prosper Series

Objective:

To give an understanding of a sower in the kingdom of God

What:

What is a sower?

Sower: (Greek, 4687) to scatter; sow; receive seed, one who sows

Sow: to plant seed for growth especially by scattering

Why:

Why must I understand the purpose of a sower?

The Kingdom of God is seedtime and harvest

·        Genesis 8:22

In order to operate effectively in the Kingdom of God, you have to fully understand seedtime and harvest, sowing and reaping.

·        Hosea 4:6

·        Proverbs 4:7

Jesus explained that the Kingdom of God is that of a sower sowing seed

·        Matthew 13:24-30

·        Mark 4:3-20

·        Luke 8:5-15

How:

How do I sow?

The Word of God is the primary seed (review message: Seedtime and Harvest in the Archives) that should be sown into your heart before you plant any other type of seed.

There are several types of seed

·        Money – 2 Corinthians 9:6-10

·        Time – Ephesians 5:16

·        Actions – James 2:14-18

·        Words – Proverbs 18:21

Know that if you sow seed you will reap a harvest

·        Genesis 8:22, seedtime and harvest will never end

·        Luke 6:38, what you give (money, time, actions, words…) will be given unto you…

Whatever you sow is what you will reap

·        Galatians 6:7-9

Sow in faith, hear from God what you should sow

·        Matthew 6:33

·        Isaiah 48:17

When you sow don’t look at your circumstances, be obedient to God regardless of what your circumstances look like

·        Ecclesiastes 11:4

·        Romans 4:17 - …call those things that be not as though they were

Sow regularly into the works of the gospel

·        Ecclesiastes 11:6

·        1 Corinthians 9:11

Conclusion:

As we learn more about the Kingdom of God, we will become more aware of the words we speak, the things we do, how we handle our finances, how we treat others and many other aspects of life that will propel us to develop Godly character.  Our lives our not a series of happenstance events, but a result of seeds sown and harvests reaped.   Begin to sow on purpose that which you desire to reap.
