Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to… no it’s not Superman, it’s the Word of God!
Quick, powerful, piercing, penetrating, transforming, and life giving, the superhero we need in our lives is the Word of our God and there is nothing more powerful!
His Words Produce
God said the words that He speaks will not return to Him void, but those words will accomplish and produce what He pleases. [1] So likewise, repeating His words will accomplish and produce in our lives what He pleases.
God has given us an example to follow; we are to call those things that are not as though they are. [2] Meaning, that thing that God has promised to you that does not yet exist, that you cannot yet see with your physical eyes, you are to speak of that thing as if it exists right now.
Creative Speaking
God doesn’t look at a situation and speak what is, He speaks to create. He said to Abram: "Nor shall your name any longer be Abram [high exalted father]; but your name shall be Abraham [father of a multitude], for I have made you the father of many nations. "[3] Notice God did not say, I will make you, He said I have made you. Abram at the time was 99 and had one child, but God spoke multitude.
In the beginning when the earth was void and full of darkness, God did not say "Whoa! It’s dark down there!” He saw what existed and spoke what He wanted: "Let there be light.”
Saying what we don’t yet see may be challenging because what we see seems so real to us. However remember this only, we walk by faith and not by sight for the things that we see are temporary (subject to change), but what we don’t see is eternal (everlasting). [4]
Take a look at the circumstances in your life and call on your superhero …it’s the Word of God and nothing, nothing, nothing is greater or more powerful.
