Write the Vision II

By Joneen M. Horton
Part 2 of Write the Vison

In a previous post, I talked about vision boards (see Write the Vision).  Today, I want to tell you the process my friend and I went through to create our first vision boards.

Step one: Pray.  We specifically prayed Habakkuk 2:2, that God would direct us, bring to our remembrance what He has spoken to us regarding our lives, and we prayed over the lives of the people that the vision boards will impact.

Step two: Gather the materials. Poster or foam board, glue or double stick tape (I recommend the tape, you'll thank me later J), scissors, markers, glitter, etc. Gather magazines to find pictures and words.  We chose to use magazines we frequently read, which included ministry, industry and a few national magazines. We found that choosing magazines we currently read better reflects who we are and what we desire to be.

Step three: Define the vision board areas.  We decided to look at six areas of our lives that God has spoken to us about.

1. Ministry

2. Physical

3. Emotional

4. Relational

5. Financial

6. Spiritual

In my next post, I'll continue with the steps to create your own vision board.
